Thank you for your interest in bringing a Girls on the Run (GOTR) program to your local school or facility! Girls on the Run is a character development program for girls, ages 8-12, that uses physical activity as a tool to introduce healthy lifestyle choices. The focus of the program is on increasing the girls’ self-respect and enhancing their self-esteem and confidence through an experienced based curriculum facilitated by Coach Mentors. We program in the Spring and Fall seasons. The season runs for 12 weeks, with the girls meeting twice a week for an hour and 30 minutes each session.

Girls on the Run Nashville is currently located in 29 sites across Middle Tennessee. We are eager to expand our programming and reach more girls with our message of joy, health and confidence. In order for our program to grow and succeed, we require a strong and active commitment from our local site partners. The following things are required of all sites interested in becoming a Girls on the Run Nashville location:

  • All sites are required to recruit three coaches to serve as coach mentors and implement the GOTR curriculum at their location. At least one of the coaches must be 21 years of age or older and no coach can be under 16 years of age. The Girls on the Run Nashville office will be responsible for training, communicating with, and providing all the materials your coaches will need to confidently implement the program.
  • All sites must identify a specific Site Coordinator who is responsible for communicating with the GOTR Program Coordinator, identifying days and times of programming, helping to publicize the program at their location, and signing the program agreement. Site Coordinators may also  be asked to serve as a substitute at their location.
  • All sites are asked to help identify girls in need of financial assistance to participate in our program. (The GOTR registration fee is $200.  Scholarships are offered on a sliding scale ranging from $25-$190 depending on financial information provided by the family.)

If you feel your site can commit to our program expectations, please fill out the site application at the top of the page and email it to our Program Coordinator (tiffany.patton@girlsontherun.org). She will contact you within a week of receiving your Interest Application to set up a site visit. We accept Site Interest Applications throughout the year. Stay tuned for Fall 2015 Deadline.
